WWYDW: You Just Made Your Own List!

It’s a pretty simple question and really it doesn’t matter if you have stats and data to back up your claims, we’re just looking to see who you have ranked as the top five Winnipeg Jets.
The idea behind this is actually inspired partly by Corey Pronman’s look at NHL prospects and his ranking of them on The Athletic.
(Keep in mind of course that you’ll have to subscribe to access the site, but we here at JetsNation would highly recommend you do as there is all sorts of great hockey and sports content.)
Pronman actually ranked the Jets at 29 which does seem a bit on the low side, but his reasoning is sound and it’s important to keep in mind that the Jets have just spent the better part of the last three seasons graduating prospects into full-fledged NHL talent that is now helping the club compete for a Stanley Cup.
Anyhoo, that’s not what this is about.
In his article discussing the Jets prospect system, Pronman lists his top 10 Jets under the age of 23 – and not to spoil too much, but as you may be able to guess, a certain Finish sniper is on the top of that list.
And that list got me to thinking, is he on top of the Jets overall list?

This isn’t so much a WWYD question but a HWYLT… How Would You List Them?

Who would be on your list of the top five players on the current Jets roster? If you ask hundreds of Jets fans, there is little doubt you’d get a few different variations on that top five list based on what fans deem important to them.
Do you value good all-around play? Guys like Mark Scheifele and Mathieu Perreault may be high on your list. If you feel defense wins championships, then Connor Hellebuyck and Jacob Trouba would no doubt rank pretty high. Scoring a top priority? Patrik Laine and Blake Wheeler of course come to mind.
My own personal top five not based on anything other than who I think is the best and most important to the Jets as a franchise at this current moment in time?
1 – Connor Hellebuyck
2 – Blake Wheeler
3 – Patrik Laine
4 – Dustin Byfuglien
5 – Mark Scheifele
As much as “goalies are voodoo” I also believe goalies are a big key to winning championships and while the Jets had their string of injuries to deal with, the team never really stumbled or fell into prolonged slumps thanks to the play of Connor Hellebuyck, so that’s why he’s my number one.
Agree? Great! Disagree? Even better! There is plenty of debate to be had over this one.
Let us know your top five Jets either in the comments below or on either our Twitter feed or Facebook page!
