Winnipeg Jets Announce 2019 Training Camp Roster & Details

It’s not October yet, but NHL hockey is closer than you maybe realize as 2019 Training Camp for the Winnipeg Jets starts at the end of this week and the club provided details about camp schedules and the team roster.
The camp opens on Friday, September 13 and will run until Sunday, September 29 and will include seven pre-season games against the Edmonton Oilers (twice), Calgary Flames (twice), Minnesota Wild (twice) and St. Louis Blues.
Training camp practices and game day skates which are to be held at the Bell MTS Iceplex are free and accessible to the public. The Jets will also be holding their sixth annual Fan Fest on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location.
As far as the roster for the Jets goes, it’s pretty standard with few surprises.
No surprises with the forward group. Of course notable by their absence on this list are Kyle Connor and Patrik Laine who are still without contracts. Kristian Reichel is at the camp on a tryout basis, while Cole Maier who only played a few games late last season with the Mantioba Moose but looked pretty good and followed that with a solid showing at least weekend’s rookie showcase in Belleville also earned a tryout on the main camp.
Likewise for Jacob Cederholm who also had a decent turn with the Jets rookies in Belleville last weekend. Cederholm was drafted in the fourth round, 97 overall by the Jets in the 2017 NHL Draft, but has been an unrestricted free agent the last two summers. In 2018 he signed a one year deal with the Manitoba Moose, but remains un-signed currently.
Declan Chisholm and Giovanni Vallati are also un-signed, but have their rights still held by the Winnipeg Jets.
No surprises at all for the goaltenders as the four names that were with the Jets last season return this season. Adam Carlson who has bounced around the ECHL the last three years with four different clubs will get a look and is likely in line for a job with the Jacksonville Icemen with Berdin looking to be a full-time AHL goalie.
