A light Wednesday night didn’t stop a handful of teams from realizing their 2017-18 season fate.

The Boston Bruins clinched a playoff spot with the single point they earned in an overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues.

The Blues are making things quite interesting now as they sit two points back of the Los Angeles Kings for that final wild card spot and five points behind the Minnesota Wild for third in the Central.

The Kings by the way are back in that second wild card spot thanks to the Ducks who shut out the Calgary Flames and vaulted back into a one point lead over the Kings for third in the Pacific.

The Jets Magic Number doesn’t get any lower, but the Blues missing out on a regulation time win is always helpful.

Meanwhile, three more teams bit the dust and they are all Canadian clubs. Montreal, Ottawa and Edmonton all were officially knocked out and can start figuring out which Canadian team they are going to bandwagon for the playoffs because that’s somehow a thing.

Our deepest condolences to OilersNation as well as they have likely stumbled upon yet another Decade of Darkness. To help celebrate this, they are throwing a party which is.. Oh, upon further review it’s a 10th Anniversary party for the Nation. That is probably a better idea.
