Be sure to check Betway to check out the latest Jets game day odds and bet on the NHL! For more than 24 hours, the Winnipeg Jets have been on top of the NHL, and a win tonight could extend that for a few more days. Currently, the Jets are tied with the New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins, each with 54 points in 38 games. All three teams have a .711 points percentage, while only the Rangers, Florida Panthers, and the Vancouver Canucks have 25 regulation wins. Finally, with a point tonight, the Jets can extend their points streak to 12, and a win would give them their sixth straight victory.
Clearly, playing in front of the mentors has been beneficial for the team at this time.
The Arizona Coyotes, who were starting to look like the young up-and-coming lapdog of the NHL this season, are now resembling their regular mangy coyote selves. They find themselves a point behind the Edmonton Oilers, who hold the final wild-card spot in the West. I should also mention that today is Howler’s 19th birthday, the mascot of the Coyotes.
The Yotes are 2-3-0 in their last five games and have been outscored 17-10 in that time. In the two games between the Jets and Coyotes, the Jets have picked up two wins and outscored their opponents 10-5, with Nino Niederreiter picking up four points in those games.
Connor Hellebuyck, who was recently named to the NHL All-Star game, should be the starter tonight for the Jets. He hasn’t allowed two regulation goals since November 30th, a streak of 11 straight games of unbelievable hockey. Get this man another Vezina Trophy. Overall, he is 19-6-3 this season with a 2.28 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage.

Karel Vejmelka gets the nod for the desert dogs. He is 6-8-2 this season with a 3.01 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. He is 3-2-0 in his last five games but is coming off a 4-1 loss to the Florida Panthers.
The Coyotes will see forward Dylan Guenther make his season debut. He has been playing with the club’s AHL team, the Tucson Roadrunners, where he leads them in goals (10) and assists (18) in 29 games. Mark Scheifele has a point per game against the Coyotes.
Clayton Keller leads the team in points with 31, and Lawson Crouse leads in goals with 16. Scheifele leads the Jets in points with 38, being the only player playing for the Jets tonight that is a point-a-game player. Nikolaj Ehlers is second in team scoring with 13 goals.
The Jets’ power play and penalty kill have been 100 percent successful in the last two games, but they have won less than 40 percent of their faceoffs.
Lines will go back to what they were before the game against the Anaheim Ducks.
Projected Lineup:
Ehlers – Scheifele  – Vilardi
Perfetti –Namestnikov  – Iafallo
Niederreiter – Lowry – Appleton
Barron – Toninato – AJF
Morrissey – DeMelo
Dillon – Pionk
Samberg – Schmid
Hellebuyck (.921 SV%)
Brossoit (.920 SV%)
Puck drop this evening is at 6:00 CST. You can watch the game on TSN or listen in on CJOB.
