JNGD.S8.G66 Flight Plan: Jets Road Trip Encounters Lightning
Stanley Cup preview anybody?
After a pretty bad February (we’ll stop short of calling it a disaster, though it kind of felt like it) the Jets have had a decent start to March with wins over Nashville at home and Columbus on the road. Tonight they’ll get a true indication of where they are at as a team with about a month left in the season as they pay a visit to the league leading Tampa Bay Lightning.

Jets Player To Watch
#26 Blake Wheeler – Right Wing
What can the captain do for an encore tonight? Blake Wheeler’s hat trick helped lock up a win in Columbus on Sunday night and a fourth goal into an empty net was just icing on the cake (not to mention 100K for a Safeway Shop & Win contestant) as he earned his first four goal game of his career. He was named the NHL’s second star on Monday with five goals and eight points over the last three games played this past week.

Last Jets Game
Blake Wheeler supplied the offensive fire power and Connor Hellebuyck made 40 saves – many of them key while the teams were tied up at 2-2 midway through the game – to help earn the Jets a second win in a row with a 5-2 win in Columbus.

Lightning Player To Watch
#9 Tyler Johnson – Forward
The Lightning are full of star players such as Stamkos, Kucherov, Point, Hedman and Vasilevskiy so it’s little wonder that Tyler Johnson gets overlooked a lot of times as a key part of this Lighting club.

Last Lightning Game
The Lightning flexed their offensive muscle scored a bunch in the second to pull away from a rather scrappy Ottawa Senators club on Saturday night with the help of goals from four different defensemen.
