The Edmonton Oilers visit Bell MTS Place and except for the top six forwards and Dustin Byfuglien, you can expect a completely different lineup for the Jets tonight. Goalie Steve Mason will make his much anticipated Jets debut as will defensemen Dmitri Kulikov, Sami Niku along with forward Matt Hendricks.

WINNIPEG JETS: LINES & NOTES

Patrik Laine – Mark Scheifele – Blake Wheeler
Mathieu Perreault – Bryan Little – Nik Ehlers
Shawn Matthias – Jack Roslovic – Nic Petan
Andrew Copp – Matt Hendricks – Brandon Tanev
Jacob Trouba – Josh Morrissey
Dustin Byfulien – Sami Niku
Tyler Myers – Dmitri Kulikov
Steve Mason
Michael Hutchinson
  • As mentioned, Steve Mason gets the start and makes his debut for the Jets tonight. He will likely go the distance much like Connor Hellebuyck did the other night vs the Wild. Michael Hutchinson is his backup.
  • The Jets “top six” remains the same, but the battle to figure out who gets put into the third and fourth lines continues including the debut of former Oiler Matt Hendricks who has gotten a fair amount of attention and it doesn’t look like there are any plans to have him be an AHL-bound veteran or a press box jockey.

Jussi Jokinen, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Kailer Yamamoto, Jujhar Khaira, Mark Letestu, Zack Kassian, Ty Rattie, Mitch Callahan, Chris Kelly, Brad Malone, Joseph Gambardella, Patrick Russel, Joey Laleggia
The D pairings should look like this..

Laurent Brossoit
Nick Ellis
  • Laurent Brossoit and Nick Ellis will split time in goal for the Oilers tonight, each of them going about half a game each.

  • Kailer Yamamoto was the Oilers first round pick from this past entry draft and had a very strong debut.
