The Jets hit the road for the first time in their preseason schedule as they head a little bit south to take on the Minnesota Wild. It’s been a bit of a rough start for the Jets as they have dropped both games played so far this week, including a particularly depressing loss to the Bakersfield Condors on Wednesday night.
It may not get any better tonight as the Jets are going to be going with a very young, inexperienced lineup as many of the regulars will sit back in Winnipeg.

  • The Wild have only played the one game so far this preseason – the 3-2 shootout win over the Jets back on Monday. Tonight the Wild will go with more of a balanced lineup of NHL regulars and prospects, than they had on Monday.
  • The ice that both teams are skating on in Minnesota tonight actually has a bit of a cool story behind it. A few weeks ago the Wild asked fans to bring in small bottles of water collected from their own home that in turn was filtered and will be used in the Zambonis and added to the ice at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild theme for this season is “This Is Our Ice” which makes the new tradition very fitting.
