The Jets fly into the Twin Cities, and have a good opportunity to bounce back from a tough loss in Chicago last night. Minnesota is one of those teams who is hanging around in the Central, and keeps moving in and out of a wildcard spot.

You know they would love to make up some ground in the division, especially against a division rival in the Winnipeg Jets.

The Jets are coming off their first regulation loss in 7 games, as they lost 2-1 to Chicago last night. That point streak was one of a few that ended last night, as the team and players alike had a few streaks going. One of the more impressive players over the last while, Blake Wheeler, has his 7-game point streak snapped, and the Jets streak of 6 straight with a powerplay goal. While last night may have been a night of streak endings, wouldn’t it be nice if a few streaks could start? With Patrik Laine’s beautiful snipe last night, he has now scored in 2 straight games.

The Wild last played on Wednesday against the very same Blackhawks, and came out on top with, oddly enough, a 2-1 win. Aside from that, they’ve seemingly been up and down the last couple weeks. This is the last game before the bye-week for Minnesota, but the recent trend for them is the points put up by Mikael Granlund. The Finn has 9 points in his last 7 games, including a hat trick against Nashville. He has been one of the more consistent Wild forwards, along with along with Eric Staal. Staal has been held pointless for the last 2 games, so he will be looking to get going offensively.

In the 3 times these teams have met this season, the Jets have come out on top. These games are usually close, with two of the three this season being decided by only 1 goal. However, their last meeting ended up rather lopsided, with the Jets coming out on top 7-2. This is the 4th and final meeting between the two teams.

The Jets have played very well against the Wild this year, and I don’t expect that to change. With most games between these two teams ending by a 1 goal difference, I would think that theme stays true. Jets win 4-3.
