Tonight the Jets are looking to get some revenge on the Penguins after an overtime loss to them just this past Thursday. The Penguins are coming in on the back half of a back to back and lost last night to Minnesota. The Jets are coming off an overtime loss to the Blue Jackets and are looking to rebound from both that game, and the last game against the Penguins.

Recently for the Jets….

In the Jets last game they went 0-6 in the powerplay, and while they held the lead for most of the game, it was on the back of Mason’s great play. We saw Wheeler have one of his worst games in recent memory against the Blue Jackets, which could be attributed to his high ToI from the game before that. With a day of rest, he should fare better this time around.

Kyle Connor has been at home on the top line and was one of the better players during the last game. The concern would be that if the Jets start to struggle, he’d fall victim to the line blender. If that happens, will he do as well as he is currently with the top line? Let’s hope we don’t find out anytime soon.

Last game, Joel Armia was a game time decision, which could indicate that he’s banged up, but nothing has been said yet. Hellebyuck will get the start tonight, and we’ll see Mason as the backup.

Recently for the Penguins….

The Penguins are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild and are looking to grab at least a point out of this back to back. This season, the Penguins are 0-3 in the second half of a back to back but are 7-0 with the man advantage on the road. If the Jets find themselves in penalty trouble, it could spell disaster for them.

Game Day Prediction

With a hungry Penguins team and a Jets team that has been undisciplined at the best of times, I’m expecting them to get into penalty trouble tonight and pay for it. With that being said, I think it’ll be a higher scoring affair than the last game and the Jets will lose 4-3.
