Sabres Notebook

The Sabres are rolling into Winnipeg after a road win over Tampa Bay. They are currently 6-2-2 in their last ten games and riding a 3 game win streak. These are not the Sabres of last season and should not be taken lightly. Most stats have the Sabres being a pretty average team, which is an improvement over the tire-fire of yesteryear. The special teams are nothing to write home about, but they can still be a threat in the right circumstances. The Sabres have made a habit of coming back from being behind in games so that is something the Jets need to be careful of.
Jeff Skinner currently is 2nd in the league in goals and is currently riding a 4 game goal streak. Carter Hutton will likely get the starting nod for the Sabres.

Jets Notebook

The Jets are hot off a win against the Cup Champions. With the number 1 powerplay, they look to take on a surging young Sabres team. The Jets started the first period against the Capitals with only two shots on goal. A flat start like that could be costly if it continues. The powerplay continues to be impressive, even if the Capitals were able to defend against it for the most part. Josh Morrissey will not miss any games after his hearing with the Department of Player Safety. Brossoit is expected to make the start against the Sabres.
