Connor Hellebuyck and the Moose continue their recent strong play, Brendan Lemieux has an exceptional game, and several prospects have their season come to an end. Check up on all this and more in this weeks Jets prospect update.

AHL

Another strong week for the Moose as they picked up two wins in three games. The wins were largely due (as usual) to the strong goaltending of Connor Hellebuyck. Hellebuyck played in all three games and allowed only six goals against on 98 shots for the week.
Leading the way offensively for the Moose was Brendan Kichton with one goal and three assists. His strong play has earned him one of the Jets four non-emergency call-ups for the remainder of the regular season. Kichton may get little or no game action with the Jets but will likely finish out the season on their roster.
Also scoring for the Moose youth this week were Scott Kosmachuk (2G), Austen Brassard (2A), and Chase De Leo (1A).

CHL

Regular Season

Playoffs

Jansen Harkins season came to an end as his Prince George Cougars were swept out of the playoffs by the Seattle Thunderbirds. Harkins had a goal and an assist in the final two games of the series and was his teams top playoff scorer with a point on all but one of the six goals scored. Harkins has since signed an amateur try out contract with the Manitoba Moose and will finish out his hockey season in the AHL.
Brendan Lemieux returned from his suspension and made his presence immediately felt as he helped lead the Spitfires to a 5-4 win in game four of their series against Kitchener in dramatic fashion. After drawing a major penalty, Brendan proceeded to score three times on the resulting powerplay in little over two minutes of in game time to put Windsor back in the lead. The Spitfires were able to take that game in overtime and avoid the sweep, but unfortunately Kitchener came back and won game five and thus Lemieux’s playoffs, and OHL career, have come to an end. As with Harkins, Lemieux has signed an ATO and will finish out the season with the Manitoba Moose.
Red Deer took both games over Calgary on the weekend to win their series 4-1. Michael Spacek picked up three assists in the two games while both Nelson Nogier and Matteo Gennaro were held pointless. With Calgary eliminated Gennaro’s WHL season has come to an end.

NCAA
