Here we go again…
As the Winnipeg Jets return from the All-Star break on Monday, all individuals were subject to resume PCR testing, unfortunately, that’s led to three positive cases for this organization, the club announced via social media.
Prior to Monday’s practice, the team placed forwards @Pierre-Luc Dubois, @Austin Poganski and defenceman @Neal Pionk in the league’s COVID-19 protocol.
Additionally, as corresponding moves, the Jets recalled four skaters from the Manitoba Moose – including defencemen @Declan Chisholm, @Ville Heinola, @Johnathan Kovacevic and forward @Kristian Reichel.
Following this announcement, Dubois, Pionk and Poganski have all been ruled out for Tuesday’s contest against the Minnesota Wild. Furthermore, if symptomatic, all three skaters will be forced to isolate for a minimum of five days.
Looking to overcome a disappointing first half, Winnipeg must improve off its 18-17-7 record to surge back into the playoff race, which currently places them sixth in the Central Division and behind five other franchises for the final wild-card seed.
The Jets will resume its 2021-22 season on Tuesday as they’re slated to host the Wild, beginning at 7:00 pm CT.
