Be sure to check Betway to check out the latest Jets game day odds and bet on the NHL! This morning we got an unexpected update from Rick Bowness about Gabriel Viladri. The Jets head coach would inform the media this morning that Vilardi will not make the five game road trip as he is dealing with an enlarged spleen and there is no time table of when the Jets winger will make a return.
“He will not be making the road trip, he has an enlarged spleen at this point there is no time table. We have to take of that obviously  he will not be traveling with the team. It came up in the last few days but it is a build up from everything from our assessment”
When asked about treatment Bowness didn’t have much of an answer for us but said,
“The doctors are treating it and he is in good hands here”
Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness provided some updates on Jets forward Gabe Vilardi this morning. Bowness indicated that Vilardi is dealing with an enlarged spleen and is getting treatment, he won’t travel with the team for the five-game trip and there is no timeline for a return.

JETS NATION PRESENTED BY BETWAY

Vilardi has put up 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points in 38 games this season with the Jets. He last got into action Feb. 29 when the Jets’ 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars and only played in the first two periods.
This isn’t Vilardi’s first injury of the season, in the third game of the season, the 24-year-old was injured after an awkward collision with Los Angeles Kings forward Blake Lizotte. Vilardi later deemed it to be “a stupid play.” He would miss the next 18 games with a sprained MCL. Vilardi returned to the lineup in late November and then would miss two more games with a lower-body injury in January.
