The Run Down
The rubber match between the Winnipeg Jets and the Edmonton Oilers goes tonight at 6 PM over at Canada Life Centre. The Jets would win game one between the Oilers and Jets on December 31st in a very tightly contested game 2-1 would be the final in that one. Going all the way back to March third the Oilers would dummy the Jets 6-3.
The Jets are holding on to the final wildcard spot with 72 points five points up on the Calgary Flames. The Oilers own the first wild card spot with 76 points in 63 games. The Jets have two wins since February 14th and have lost their last five games
Hard to say which goalie Rick Bowness goes in with as both Connor Hellebuyck and David Rittich played in last night’s game. But my gut tells me to go with Hellebuyck since he was pulled after the second period.
Primary Bet – Jets to win (Moneyline) – (+110)
A $1 bet would pay out $2.10. Catch me out here continuing to bet on the Jets. Five straight losses for the Jets? No big deal they will find a win soon. The Oilers have to be feeling pretty cocky after last night’s win and the Jets have to be mad. Tonight also should be Vladislav Namestnikov’s first game in a Jets jersey which should give the Jets an extra punch tonight.
Secondary Bet – Nikolaj Ehlers anytime goal– (+187)
A $1 dollars bet would pay out $2.87. Nikolaj Ehlers has been working his ass off for the last few games and just needs to find the back of the net. With Nino Niederreiter playing on the opposite wing one of these two men has to score tonight. I’m feeling Ehlers to do it. Ehlers had two and Niederreiter had three shots against the Oilers on Friday night. The value is good for me on this one.
Tertiary Bet – Nikolaj Ehlers and Connor McDavid to score 1+ goals– (+375)
If you are putting money down on Nikolaj Ehlers to score you might as well add McDavid to the bet and make some extra money. McDavid might not have scored last night but we know he generally does score. It should be money in the bank if Ehlers scores. If you don’t like Ehlers on this ticket you can find tickets with McDavid and Kyle Connor as well, it’s only +275 but is still a good deal.
