WWYDW: How do you handle the Jets coaching/management situation?

The ever so popular topic on social media when it comes to the Jets is that Paul Maurice and Kevin Cheveldayoff need to be fired. This is a go-to response to whenever a bad signing happens or the team isn’t playing as well as they should be. They are easy scapegoats and it’s not hard to know why.

For the Jets, the personnel moves that have been made are questionable at times and downright wizardry at other times. Most fanbases aren’t going to be 100% happy about trades made or signings, but there has been an overall feeling that it’s been too long. While the Scheifele extension was magic, one has to question the Kulikov and Hendricks signings a little bit.

The Hendricks signing has fans worried about how he’s going to get used. Will he be with the Moose? Will he be on the fourth line? These questions are in place because the coaching staff has opted to use grinders over young talent in the past. There is no trusting that he’ll sit in favour of young talent like Petan or Dano.

This all brings us to what fans seem to want the most; a new GM and coach. Many teams see a change in how the team plays when there is a coaching change in the middle of the year, but often new GM moves don’t really impact a team for a few months.

So this all brings us to these questions…Do you feel that a new GM would impact the team right away, and if so, in what way? Do you think that the current team composition would make it hard for a new coach to make a difference? What changes would you make if you had that power? Who would you hire?
