Winnipeg Jets release some players to appear at 2015’s Young Stars Classic

The Vancouver Canucks released a few of the top prospects that will be playing at their 2015’s Young Stars Classic in Penticton, BC, which will include prospects from the Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, and Winnipeg Jets.
Some of the big names include Jake Virtanen, Sam Bennet, Leon Draisaitl, Darnell Nurse, and –of course– Connor McDavid.
Let’s take a look at who may be attending for the Jets.
The Winnipeg Jets roster bits that were released included Nikolaj Ehlers, osh Morrissey, Jan Kostalek, Nic Petan, Eric Comrie, Jansen Harkins, Andrew Copp, Connor Hellebuyck, and Brendan Lemieux.
Judging from past history, the Jets will send players who just finished their rookie pro-season, like Scott Kosamchuk, but will not likely include players who just finished their sophomore season, like JC Lipon.
Players going to NCAA will be ineligible as the Young Stars Tournament in essence is viewed as a pro-tryout, so much of the Jets 2015 draft class will be unable to attend, like Kyle Connor and Jack Roslovic. School will also have started by that time as well.
Also, the European leagues will have started their camps and playing as well, so Pavel Kraskovsky and Sami Niku will be unavailable.
Our guess is the Jets roster will look something like this (plus any undrafted invites):
Tickets will go on sale Friday, July 10th at 10:00 AM Pacific.
Winnipeg will play on September 11th against Calgary, the 13th against Vancouver, and the 14th against Edmonton.
For those that cannot attend, we will be sending some of us at the Nations Network to the event to report.
