Be sure to check Betway to check out the latest Jets game day odds and bet on the NHL! It’s been nine long days since we last watched the Winnipeg Jets play, and 17 days since we saw a Jets win. We get our first taste of  Sean Monahan as a Jet, and we get to see a healthy top line of Kyle Connor, Gabriel Vilardi, and Mark Scheifele together on a line for the first time in a very long time.
The Jets are coming off their bye-week and are looking to get back to their winning ways. They dropped their last three games before the break, but had key players out with injuries. Currently, the Jets are third behind the Dallas Stars and the Colorado Avalanche in the Central Division, but have games in hand over both teams.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are in need of wins right now; they are seven points back of the Detroit Red Wings, who hold onto the final Wild Card playoff spot in the East but have four games in hand over Detroit. The month of January was not kind to the Penguins as they went 4-4-3 and dropped five of their last seven games. Jesse Puljujarvi could make his debut for the Pens tonight he just signed his contract with the Pens after having bilateral hip surgery.
If the Penguins are looking to be a playoff team and not miss the postseason for the second year in a row, they will need to start winning games today. I wrote an article during the bye-week that said we don’t need to panic about the Jets unless they drop a fourth straight game. I am predicting a bit of a slobberknocker for these two clubs as they start to fight it out for the privilege of going to the postseason.

JETS NATION PRESENTED BY BETWAY

Tristan Jarry will make his sixth start in seven games. With many goaltending stats down in the NHL, Jarry has a solid 2.53 goals against average and a .913 save percentage, and he has had five shutouts this season. Connor Hellebuyck, fresh off the All-Star game, has a 23-9-3 record with a 2.20 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
Hellebuyck hasn’t seen a lot of success against Pittsburgh with a 3-5-3 record, a 2.46 goals against average, and a .927 save percentage. Jarry, on the other hand, wishes he saw Winnipeg more often. He is nearly perfect when playing against the Jets; he is 4-0-0 and has a 1.22 goals against average and a .959 save percentage.
Connor leads the Jets with 18 goals this season, while Mark Scheifele leads the team with 27 assists and 41 points. Unsurprisingly, Sidney Crosby leads the Pens with 27 goals and 50 points, while Jake Guentzel leads with 27 assists.

Jets projected lineup

Niederreiter –  Lowry – Appleton
