The Rest Of The Picks: Jets Take Henri Nikkanen, Harrison Blaisdell, And Logan Neaton

The Jets finished off their 2019 NHL Draft with three more picks after a bit of a break after their 51st pick in the second round. The Jets didn’t have a pick in the third round but had one in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
Pick At 113: Henri Nikkanen (Center)
Almost instantly on the social media, many pointed out that this could be a steal for the Jets taking a player that before the season maybe could have been thought of as higher pick – maybe even first round talent – but fell due to a run of injuries and limited ice time this past season. A 6’2″ center with good skating ability and a very well thought of skill set, DobberProspects.com had a bit of a run down on Nikkanen’s potential:
Nikkanen continues to be an intriguing prospect due to his set of desirable tools. He is a 6-foot-2 and plays down the middle. He is a very good skater for his size and has silky pair of mitts. Nikkanen’s hockey sense has been a question mark for me in the past, but despite that he could be a very good pick if the injuries make him fall too low in the draft.

Pick At 134: Harrison Blaisdell (Center)
Harrison Blaisdell is the son of former NHL’er Mike Blaisdell who played in the league for multiple teams in the 80’s and over in England later on where Harrison was actually born. Blaisdell spent this past season with the Chilliwak Chiefs of the BCHL junior A hockey league where he had 33 goals and 25 points in 51 games played. He’s committed to joining the University of North Dakota next season and according to UND head coach Brad Berry, his high energy play could prove to make him a fan favorite as he told Grand Fork’s Herald’s Brad Schlossman.
“He’s a young man who has a motor. He reminds me a lot of Drake Caggiula as far as how he approaches every day on the ice, in the weight room and in the classroom. He’s a young man that plays with fire and passion, and has very good skill and ability. He was counted on heavily in Chilliwack last year. He played center and wing and he played in all situations. He was a spark for their team. He’s a young man who never wasted a shift. That’s North Dakota hockey and that’s what we recruited him as: a guy with a high skill level and a lot of compete.”

Pick At 113: Logan Neaton (Goalie)
Logan Neaton joined the Prince George Spruce Kings this past season and helped lead the club to a BCHL championship as well as a Doyle Cup victory (BCHL vs AJHL championship) before falling short at the national RBC Cup, but did collect top goaltender honors for the tournament.
Neaton posted a 32-8 record with a .914 save percentage during the regular season, and his playoff run through the BCHL and Doyle Cup saw him go 20-3 with a .939 save percentage.
Logan will be heading to a school next season that is very familiar to current Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck as he’ll suit up with UMass-Lowell.
