We are less than 48 hours away from the start of a new Winnipeg Jets season when the the Toronto Maple Leafs step up to be the first victims of the Patrick Laine #50for29in18 Tour.

It’s also the start of “Carter’s Jersey Tour”

Almost two months ago we told you the story of Carter Jansen and his friend Graeme Fortlage. The pair of friends had been making plans to attend the 2016-17 season opener, but those plans were tragically cut short when a accident with a semi-tractor trailer took his life at the age of 21.

One year later, to honor his memory, Graeme has bought a brand new Jets jersey in Carter’s honor and dozens of fans around North America have come together to see to it that Carter’s jersey will visit all 31 NHL cities this season with plenty of photos to be taken to be shared with the Jansen family.

The first visit starts Wednesday night in Winnipeg.

Between honoring the memory of a dedicated Jets fan and the excitement over the start of a new hockey season, we here at JetsNation felt that’s plenty of good reason to celebrate which we will do at The Pint just a few blocks away from Bell MTS Place!

If you don’t have tickets to the game, but still want to enjoy it with a couple hundred fellow Jets fans (and maybe some Leafs fans who are lost both direction and team support wise) there will be no better place to be the night of October 4th than at The Pint to enjoy some great food, some cold bevys and watch the game on multiple big screens!

Nation Dan will be there and hosting – yes, we know he’s an Oilers fan, but if there is one thing that that can unite Jets and Oilers fans, it’s our loathing of Toronto…

Other JetsNation staff will be there as well that night (yours truly included, after the game of course) and during the game we’ll have giveaways of JetsNation swag, including one big giveaway that Nation Dan has sworn me to secrecy on..
