Niederreiter,30, a right winger, has played in 56 games this season with the Predators has scored 18 goals and 10 assists for 28 points. The Switz born player was drafted fifth overall in the 2010 NHL draft. To date he has played for the New York Islanders, Minnesota Wild, Carolina Hurricanes and Nashville Predators. Niederreiter has been playing on the Predators powerplay with limited success only scoring three goals and two assists with the extra man. He has reached the the 20-goal mark in six of the last eight season’s hopefully finding the mark again to help the Jets find a secondary scorer.
Niederreiter has one more year left on his two-year contract it will come in at a cap hit of four million dollars.
