As the All-Star selections were released today, I was happy to see that Wheeler and Scheifele will be representing our Jets in San Jose January 26th – 27th. I think it’s safe to say that all Jets fans are more than satisfied that Wheeler and Scheifele were those selected to represent our team at the All-Star game.
This will be Wheeler’s second career (and second straight) All-Star appearance. The 32 year old Plymouth, Minnesota native leads the Jets with 6 goals and 44 assists for a total of 50 point through 39 contests. Wheeler began to finally receive well deserved recognition league wide last year, and that recognition continues this year with another All-Star appearance.

This will be Scheifele’s first All-Star appearance, although had it not been for an injury that kept him out through All-Star weekend last year i am confident this would be his second. The 25 year old pivot is having a career year, notching 22 goals and 27 assists for 49 points through 39 games, one back of Wheeler for the team lead.

The Jets will be well represented at the 2019 NHL All-Star weekend for a second straight year, with Wheeler’s second career and second straight appearance, along with Scheifele’s first career appearance.
Snubs:
Dustin Byfuglien (injured): 25 points in 32 games
Patrik Laine: 24 goals in 39 games
