Kyle Connor’s terrific week has not only been adored by Jets fans, but also by the NHL as he was named the first star of the week.
Connor paced the league with 5-3-8 in 4 games played, including his first NHL hat trick against the Predators on Saturday.
He started the week with a 2-point performance, including one goal, against the Kings on March 18th.
This isn't a replay of the first goal, it's just Kyle Connor scoring his 26th of the season from pretty much the same spot while the #NHLJets are on the power play for a 2-0 lead.
He then followed that up with another 2 point performance, including another goal in a shutout performance against the Ducks.
#NHLJets extend the lead to 2-0 as Andrew Copp disrupts play, Tyler Myers flicks it on goal and Kyle Connor gets #JustTheTip on it. His 29th of the season.
His best game of the week was no doubt Saturday night against Nashville, where he went off for his first career hat trick in a 4 point performance to help the Jets clinch their second consecutive playoff appearance.
His first goal in that game was one for the season ending highlight reel as he absolutely walked all around the Preds’ P.K. Subban.
The next couple of goals he scored in the playoff clinching effort were just as nice.
Kyle’s hat trick was the first of his career and the Jets’ eight this season. This is also Kyle’s first time as an NHL’s first star of the week.
