With the playoffs a couple of weeks away, things are starting to get intense with each and every game and even with a playoff spot clinched there will be little rest for the Jets as the Dallas Stars come in to town and are desperate to pick up wins and points to help their own playoff push.. A push that may see them finish in the first wild card spot and a trip back to Winnipeg for a first round matchup.

Stars Player To Watch

#91 Tyler Seguin – Center

On one hand, it was a good past week for Tyler as his six points – two goals and four assists – are impressive by any stretch, even if all the assists came in one game against the Florida Panthers. Problem is though his team didn’t have as good a week in the standings as that win over Florida was followed up by a critical divisional loss to the Avalanche and then a tough defeat at the hands (flippers?) of the Penguins. Seguin is having yet again a strong season in Dallas despite the turmoil that’s surrounded him, but he’s going to need help if the Stars are to lock down a return to the playoffs for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
Last week for Tyler Seguin…

Last Stars Game

Jarred McCann scored twice in the game, the second a beautiful shorthanded effort and the Stars just didn’t play a good full sixty minutes against a Penguins squad that will always be tough to play against for a full game. Dallas drops a 3-2 decision to Pittsburgh at home.

Jets Player To Watch

# 29 Patrik Laine – Right Wing

Once again the kid is in an extended goal scoring slump – this time 12 games, his last goal coming in a game against the Minnesota Wild back on February 26.
Funny thing about that though is this time feels a bit different in that he’s still racking up assists and has displayed fantastic play making ability over the last handful of games, if anything this last segment of games for Patrik has been proof that he isn’t just a one dimensional sniper. Still though, the Jets would sure like for him to get back to his scoring ways and there is no better team to do that against than the Dallas Stars who he has scored the most goals against over any other team in the NHL.

Last Jets Game

It’s always satisfying when the Jets can beat a hated division rival such as the Dallas Stars, but even more so when it’s in the form of a dominant 5-0 shutout that extends the division lead in the Central and helps the team clinch a spot in the 2019 NHL Playoffs.
