TALKING POINTS

• Perhaps we expected the Jets to run roughshod over the Wild early, but that hasn’t been the Jets style at all this season really. Yeah, they can put up big numbers, but this has always been a methodical team that just chips away at a game. They pound a rock and it may not break in the first 5 or 10 or 15 shots, but it will break eventually.
• Speaking of no panic, they got down 2-1, and didn’t panic. If anything they started to take over the game in the third period. They’ve done it all season and it’s still remarkable to witness as if we’re all seeing it for the first time.
• Not sure why the Jets kept trying to go glove on Dubnyk, but that’s always been a strength for him. He’s much more vulnerable with the blocker and it’s no coincidence that the Jets first goal came on a shot that went blocker side.
• Laine can shoot wherever he wants.
• It’s almost like the Jets needed to trail to snap into this game proper. After that Wild second goal, the Jets played more like we had expected to see.
• Jets fans had worried about being “goalied” by Devan Dubnyk and it almost happened. He was fantastic in this game with 37 saves. Hellebuyck only had 18 stops but the two goals against I don’t think you can peg completely on him.
• Seriously… Morrow GWG! If that isn’t playoff hockey, what the hell is?
