San Jose came into today’s game road weary and perhaps maybe looking a little too forward to their bye week off and thus were not as sharp as they could have been which suited Connor Hellebuyck and the Jets just fine as Winnipeg handled their business and came away with a 4-1 over Los Tiburones.

Matchups are limited to 5-on-5 situations. Tile size is scaled by Time On Ice and colour is scaled by adjusted Expected Goals differential. Blue represents a home team advantage and red represents a road team advantage.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME

For Winnipeg: Mathieu Perreault & Connor Hellebuyck – Can’t decide who should get the nod, so let’s give it to both of them. Perreault had a couple of goals and continued to be his strong, steady self. Hellebuyck posted 31 saves for the victory and a .969 save percentage.
For San Jose: Logan Couture – Had the Sharks lone goal, had five shots on goal and also rang two other shots off the post. Was dangerous all game long for San Jose

TALKING POINTS

As always, we want your feedback on the game. You can share your thoughts on the game via our comments below, or through our Facebook or Twitter feeds.
  • Should the Jets be concerned with the amount of stick penalties they are still committing? All four penalties committed by the Jets today were stick infractions (three hooking calls, one tripping)
  • Were you happy with how Paul Maurice used Jack Roslovic in his season debut with the Jets? Was it about what you expected or did you expect more? He started the game playing less than two minutes in the first period, but by the end of the game had some turns with Blake Wheeler on the top line.
  • Have you come around on Matt Hendricks? His fourth goal of the season to lead scoring today was a bit of a beauty right? Has he earned a place on the Jets fourth line or would you still prefer he sits in the press box?
  • Dustin Byfuglien had 18:48 of ice time today which was fourth among Jets D-Men. Should he be getting more ice time or less? Is he in the doghouse? Is he maybe still injured? Give us your best Buff conspiracy theories!
  • Who else did you like in today’s game, who needed to be better?

NEXT FLIGHT

The Jets head right back out on the road for three games, starting Tuesday night in Buffalo as they meet up yet again with the Sabres. Start time for that game is 6 PM CST.
