The Colorado Avalanche have been good recently, but the Jets have been really good. Both teams will meet up for the second time this season as Winnipeg will try to match their season high winning streak of four games.

Recently for the Jets…

A three game win streak coming out of the Christmas break has closed out what was otherwise a rather pedestrian December for the club going 8-5-2 for the final month of 2017. Their play in the last three games had been a lot more reminiscent of their play in November even as they’ve missed key parts of their lineup. Tonight they get one of those missing players back as Dustin Byfuglien has recovered from his injury and will take the place of Tucker Poolman in the lineup. Tonight is the second game of a two game road trip the Jets embarked on, the first being of course the 5-0 shutout win over the Edmonton Oilers on New Years Eve.

Recently for the Avalanche…

Colorad has been on a bit of a nice run themselves as of late having won their last two games and three of the previous four played.  They picked up a 4-3 overtime win against the Toronto Maple Leafs last Friday and then hammered the New York Islanders on New years Eve by a 6-1 score as Gabriel Landeskog picked up a pair of goals and an assist in the win. The Avs are in the middle of a six game home stand that wraps up later this week.

Recently between both teams…

The Jets suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to the Colorado Avalanche back on November 29. In that game the Jets didn’t exactly come out inspired and took a string of bad (aka: lazy) penalties but still managed to salvage a point out of the proceedings. It was a bit of a harbinger of things to come in December as was previously touched on above. This is the second of four meetings between the to teams and the last in Denver. Both clubs meet up twice in February in Winnipeg.
