All things considered, a 2-1 shootout loss to the Boston Bruins isn’t a bad result. The Bruins have been on quite a roll today and the Jets didn’t want to tempt fate by playing run and gun hockey with the B’s.
Full credit to both goaltenders – Tuukka Rask for Boston and Connor Hellebuyck for Winnipeg – who were both pitching shutouts until almost midway through the third period. The defense for both teams also did well to limit second chance opportunities as well as taking away rebounds.

HOW DID THEY CORSI?

Matchups are limited to 5-on-5 situations. Tile size is scaled by Time On Ice and colour is scaled by adjusted Expected Goals differential. Blue represents a home team advantage and red represents a road team advantage.

GOALIES OF THE GAME

For Winnipeg: Connor Hellebuyck – 32 saves which included some very difficult one-timers and shots in the slot that would have sunk previous versions of the Winnipeg Jets.
For Boston: Tuukka Rask – 37 saves for the win. He wasn’t challenged with high quality chances as much as Hellebuyck was, but Rask still made some outstanding saves – especially in overtime.

NEXT FLIGHT

They Jets have a Saturday afternoon contest against the New York Islanders in Brooklyn that will wrap up their three game road trip and send them into the Christmas break.
