It’s the second last preseason game for both the Winnipeg Jets and Ottawa Senators tonight from Winnipeg.
The Sens have had a solid preseason where they had been undefeated up until Monday night when things went off the rails for them and were handed a 8-1 drubbing in Price Edward island thanks to the New Jersey Devils.
The Winnipeg Jets have had a bit of a frustrating preseason, but turned things around a bit against the Calgary Flames on Monday in a 5-2 win.

  • Hellebuyck gets the start tonight and is expected to go the distance.
  • The Jets did send Jan Kostalek down to the Manitoba Moose this morning as expected. The delay in sending him down was injury related. The Jets now have 19 forwards, 8 defensemen and 3 goalies. It’s possible the next and final round of cuts happen Sunday after the last preseason game takes place.

OTTAWA SENATORS LINES & NOTES

Forwards
Zack Smith – Kyle Turris – Mike Hoffman
Mark Stone – Jean-Gabriel Pageau – Bobby Ryan
Ryan Dzingel – Logan Brown – Alex Burrows
Alex Formenton – Nate Thompson – Tom Pyatt
Defense
Dion Phaneuf-Chabot
Boro-Wideman
Oduya-Ceci
Goaltenders
Mike Condon
Andrew Hammond
  • Mike Condon is slated to be the Sens backup goalie this season behind Craig Anderson, but he will start tonight against the Jets. Andrew Hammond – who was a Sens late season hero just two years ago – is in a bit of a holding pattern in terms of if he will stay with the NHL club and they run with three goalies to start, if they send him down to the AHL, or if they make a deal to move him on to another team.
  • Ottawa has seen a series of very solid performances from rookie forwards Logan Brown and Alex Formenton as well as defenseman Thomas Chabot who scored the lone Sens goal on Monday night in their 8-1 loss to New Jersey. All three will be in the lineup tonight against Winnipeg and making last ditch efforts to remain for opening night.
  • The Sens will bring a roster full of NHL experience and regulars. 14 players dressing tonight spent the majority of their time last season on an NHL club.
