On Jan. 18, the Winnipeg Jets fell short to the Washington Capitals, losing 4-3 in overtime. @Cole Perfetti scored his first NHL goal, albeit, in a losing effort.
In all honesty, the Jets should’ve ran the Capitals out of the arena that night, but puck luck just wasn’t in their favour. Several shots rang off the post and goaltender @Vitek Vanecek made some spectacular saves all game long.
On the betting front, I went 0-for-6 on the night for just the second time this year. So let’s see if the Jets and I can get back into the winning column Thursday night against the Nashville Predators.

What You Need to Know About the Jets

The Jets feature a 3-1-1 record since the start of the new year, but overall, they’ve performed to a 17-12-6 record. Additionally, this club is just four points back of the San Jose Sharks, who own for the final wild-card seed in the Western Conference.
Goaltender @Connor Hellebuyck will get the nod for this contest. On the season, Hellebuyck owns a 14-10-5 record, a 2.73 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage. In addition, he’s tied for the third-most starts (29) in the league, according to NHL.com. Against the Predators, Hellebuyck has won 10 of his 16 career matchups.
Winnipeg will be without @Blake Wheeler (lower-body) and @Nikolaj Ehlers (lower-body) in this contest. @Paul Stastny and @Evgeny Svechnikov will draw back into the line-up against Nashville.
The last time the Jets and Predators met up was on Oct. 23, when Winnipeg won 6-4.

What You Need to Know About the Predators

The Predators have dropped their last four games and have been outscored 16-8. Overall this season, they own a 24-14-3 record and 51 points, positioning them third in the Central Division.
Goaltender @Juuse Saros will make his 34th start of 2021-22. This season, Saros has posted a 20-11-2 record, a 2.43 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage. Additionally, Saros has been selected to appear in next month’s All-Star festivities – the first of his career.
@Filip Forsberg leads Nashville in goals (19), @Mikael Granlund leads in assists (28) and @Roman Josi holds the most points (40) on the team.
@Mattias Ekholm (COVID-19) and @Dante Fabbro (upper-body) are both out for Thursday’s contest.
