On Jan. 23, the Winnipeg Jets dropped their fourth straight game to the Pittsburgh Penguins, losing 3-2 in a shootout. Once again, the Jets should’ve locked that game up, and yet, they fell just a few inches short.
Between allowing two goals in nine seconds, hitting several posts and some questionable decisions from the referees, the Jets just simply couldn’t finish the job. But, I suppose we must move on and focus on this upcoming clash against the Florida Panthers.
Looking at my bets from last Sunday, I went 2-for-6 on the night. A nice little rebound after missing 18 straight bets. Let’s see the Jets can upset the Panthers and I can get us back winning some money.

What You Need to Know About the Jets

In the last 10 games, the Jets have performed to a 4-4-2 record. In particular, they’ve struggled mightily against the Eastern Conference this season, earning them a 3-7-2 record. Still, this club is just three points back of the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference, which is held by the Calgary Flames.
@Connor Hellebuyck is expected to start his 33rd game of the season in this contest. The 28-year-old owns a 14-12-6 record, a 2.80 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage. In Hellebuycks last five games, he’s posted one shutout and has allowed 13 goals against.
There will be no @Dylan DeMelo (lower-body), @Logan Stanley (upper-body), @Nikolaj Ehlers (lower-body) and @Dominic Toninato (Covid-19) during Tuesday’s showdown.
@Kyle Connor leads Winnipeg in goals (22) assists (19) and points (41) thus far in 2021-22.
The last time these two clubs met was on Nov. 14, 2019, the Jets won 4-3 in regulation.

What You Need to Know About the Panthers

Though the Panthers lost their last game to the Seattle Kraken 5-3 on Jan. 23, they remain one of the top teams in the NHL this season. Currently, they’re atop of the Eastern Conference with 61 points and a 28-9-5  record through 40 games.
The Panthers are expected to start @Sergei Bobrovsky, who’s enjoyed an unbelievable first half of the season. In total, he’s rocking with a 20-4-3 record, a 2.44 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.
Florida will be without @Noel Acciari (upper-body), @Markus Nutivaara (undisclosed), @Jonas Johansson (Covid-19) and @Gustav Forsling (Covid-19).
@Aleksander Barkov leads the Panthers in goals (18), @Jonathan Huberdeau leads the team in assists (42) and points (58).
