It’s the first game in the home and home series between the Winnipeg Jets and the Calgary Flames. The Jets are coming off a disappointing 3-2 shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Rookie @Cole Perfetti would score two goals for the Jets, although he’s not officially locked into the line-up I’d be beyond shocked if he isn’t in the opening night line-up. @Connor Hellebuyck would stop 25 of 27 shots but would allow @Devin Shore to score in the shootout. The special teams for the Jets have been solid so far in the preseason, on Power Play the Jets have been successful 23percent of the time and the Penalty Kill is so much better than it was last season right now the Jets have killed off 84 percent of penalties. To end last season the Jets were only killing 75 percent of penalties.  The Flames have already played six preseason games and have a record of 3-3. The Flames won their last game which was on October third against the Seattle Kraken with a score of 4-1. If you are watching tonight’s game just keep in mind you need to head to the Jets website nhl.com/jets  to watch the game which is at 7 PM tonight. It’s the first game in the home and home series between the Winnipeg Jets and the Calgary Flames. Just a few notes for tonight’s game

    • Hellebuyck is getting the night off. @David Rittich should be starting between the pipes tonight. @Arvid Holm has been recalled by the Jets to be the backup. The tandem of Rittich and Holm would last play on September 29th against the Montreal Canadiens. Rittich would play 40 minutes in the game against Montreal stopping 9 of 10. Holm would take over for the last 20 minutes. He had his work cut out for him as he would see 15 shots in 20 minutes and made some massive saves, Holm would stop 13 of 15.
    • @Morgan Barron is making his preseason debut tonight. He’ll be on the second line with @Adam Lowry and @Mason Appleton. Barron is my player to watch tonight.
    • Bold prediction. Maenalanen scores his first point of the preseason tonight.
    • Head Coach Rick Bowness wants to see what the younger Jets players can bring to the table against a “strong Flames line-up”
    • Final game for some players so expect some cuts sometime tomorrow or on Friday.
    • We will see the three young defensemen @Ville Heinola, @Logan Stanley, and @Dylan Samberg play in tonight’s contest. Two of those guys will most likely be sent down to the minors. Stanley is the only one of the three who has to go through waivers.
    • @Brad Lambert has been the fan favourite throughout the preseason and he will be on the third line with @Cole Perfetti and @Dominic Toninato. Should be fun to watch that line and the magic they make.
    • Perfetti, @Kyle Connor, and Heinola are tied for first in scoring all of them have three points.
    • Flames are more or less going to be running with their full team in tonight’s contest.
    • @Dan Vladar and @Dustin Wolf should be the tandem for the Flames tonight. Vladar who was the Flames backup goalie last season would last play on September 30th against the Oilers and would stop 36 of 38 shots. Wolf’s last full game was back on September 25th he would stop 26 of 28 and pick up the overtime victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
    • Points Bet Canada has the Jets at +135 to win and the Flames to win is -160.
