The Jets were finally able to add some consistency into their game on Tuesday night, as they are now into what is their longest regulation losing streak of the season. Unable to create pretty much anything against the Lightning, the Jets were able to set what could be seen as a new low on the season as they sunk back into the basement of the Central Division.

The Jets have had some really ugly games, but this one might just take the cake when it comes to scoring chances. There is just nothing good about this game. Poor special teams (despite scoring both goals on the power play), horrid even strength play, it was just bad.

Mark Stuart and Dustin Byfuglien need to stop being a thing on the ice together. Despite the actually decent numbers they had tonight at even strength, we saw on at least one instance how the two just can’t be together (Tampa’s first goal). I firmly believe that Byfuglien is a great defenseman and a valuable asset to this team, when he is with the right guy. Mark Stuart is not that guy. Toby Enstrom is. Byfuglien needs someone that understands the way he moves, and is there to provide an outlet when he needs it. Someone who doesn’t take stupid chances to hit people at the blue line. Someone who is a capable NHL defenseman. It’s ridiculous that Mark Stuart is currently playing on what could be considered the Jets top pairing.

Has Devin Setoguchi been bad lately? Yes he has. Has Devin Setoguchi been bad all year long? No, he has not. Does Devin Setoguchi’s poor play seem to match up with the same time that he started playing with Chris Thorburn? Yup. Just a thought, but maybe Chris Thorburn shouldn’t be playing with guys who normally are meant for scoring. Crazy, right?

The Jets “top line” of Little, Ladd and Wheeler really haven’t been able to do much lately. I think Blake Wheeler has played pretty well, but neither Ladd or Little have been producing to the level this team needs them to.

Why is Eric O’Dell even with the Jets if he isn’t going to be used in an appropriate manner? It’s a waste of his time and development. At least put him somewhere he can play a role he is meant for.

I’m really starting to sound like a broken record here, but something needs to change. It’s painfully obvious that this isn’t working. You can only try to make a square piece fit into a round hole for so long before everyone gets freaked out and wants nothing to do with you. And guess what? People are starting to back away.
