The Run Down

The Winnipeg Jets are coming off a massive 7-5 victory over the Edmonton Oilers to snap a five-game winless streak.  Adam Lowry would snap a 33-game goalless streak as well in the victory and Kyle Capobianco would also score in that game with Josh Morrissey would score the game-winner. The Jets would go 1/3 on both the penalty kill and the power play.
The San Jose Sharks are licking their wounds after a crushing 8-3 loss to the Washington Capitals on Saturday night. The Sharks would open the scoring in the first with a goal by Thomas Hertl. Sharks goaltender Kaapo Kähkönen would have a save percentage of .733 only stopping 22 of 30 shots. The sharks are 1-7-1 in their last nine games.

Primary Bet – Jets win and over 5.5 goals – (+140)

A $1 bet would pay out $2.40. The money line on this wasn’t great but if you are looking to make some coin on a pretty good bet this might be it. David Rittich who should be the starter for the Jets tonight has 2.55 goals against average and a .908 save percentage. The Jets have found the back of the net 15 times in the last three games.

The Sharks have lost a lot of games lately but they do like to score. In four of their last nine games, they have scored three or more goals. The Jets will need four or more goals in this game in order to win. The Jets might be able to do that to Manitoba-born goaltender James Reimer who has a 3.35 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage.  The goals were flowing against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night let’s hope it continues for both clubs.

Secondary Bet – Nino Niederreiter anytime goal– (+162)

A $1 bet would payout 2.62. Niederreiter has terrorised the Sharks once this year with a two-goal performance when he was still with the Nashville Predators on February 23. He has six goals against the Sharks in 24 games. He will be playing on the top line with Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor.  Of those three men, he has the best payout. Josh Morrissey is +300 tonight to score the way he has been sniffing around the net it might not be a bad extra bet.

Tertiary Bet – Kyle Connor and Tomas Hertl to score 1+ goals– (+450)

A $1 bet would payout 5.50. We haven’t made a wild bet yet this year and this is it. Both Hertl and  Connor have scored at least .33 goals against tonight’s opponents. If you are looking to be a little bit risky this is your chance to get in on it.
