The Run Down

The Winnipeg Jets have been trying to dig themselves out of this rut for a few games now and haven’t quite gotten out of it. The Jets have just one win in their last eight games. That said, the Jets have been shooting the puck and getting into greasy areas but have no finish.
The most recent Jets loss came by the hands of the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday Night the final score was 4-2. It was a game where Connor Hellebuyck wasn’t entirely on his game and allowed a soft goal against and Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury would stop 46 of 48 shots against the Jets.
The Florida Panthers are in the middle of a long seven-game home stand. The Panthers played the Chicago Blackhawks last night, Florida would walk away with a 4-3 OT win. Sergei Bobrovsky played against the Blackhawks and is the expected starter against Winnipeg.  In his last five starts, Bobrovsky is 4-1-0.
The Jets still have four points over the Calgary Flames and one game in hand when looking for the final spot in the west wild card playoff spot. Nashville is six points back of the Jets with three games in hand.  The Panthers are on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs. They are two points back of the Pittsburgh Penguins who have 74 points in 64 games.

Primary Bet – Jets win – (+110)

A $1 bet would pay out $2.10. The Jets have to win. They’ve been playing really good hockey lately the power play just hasn’t broken through with a goal a game. The Jets got a practice in yesterday but are without Pierre-Luc Dubois for this game and the next. Hellebuyck will make his ninth start in 11 games. Ken Wiebe noted on Twitter this morning that Dylan Samberg was in doing a starting routine with Hellebuyck. Looks like the only change to line up between now and Wednesday evening.

The Panthers played at home last night against the Blackhawks and did everything they could to beat Petr Mrazek. He would stop 39 of 43 shots. He wouldn’t let the Panthers score their first goal of the game until the middle of the third period.

Over the last five games between the two clubs, the Panthers have won three going back to 2018. All of those games have seen a minimum of six goals per game. If you want to bet the Jets win and bet the over 5.5 goals scored tonight might be the night to make that bet.

Secondary Bet – Kyle Connor and Matthew Tkachuk to both score 1+ goals– (+140)

A $1 bet will get you a return of $2.40. The new Jets’ top line is still wowing me and with the history of Matthew Tkachuk and the Jets, it seemed like a good bet to me. Tkachuk has 28 goals and 84 points this season and has 0 goals in his last five games. Kyle Connor has 27 goals and 70 points this season with just one goal in his last five games.

Tertiary Bet – Mark Scheifele anytime assist – (+140)

The way the Jets have been playing lately is screaming the goals will come. In the Jets’ last five games they have scored 19 goals. The top line I’ve already talked about and they should get a goal tonight. Mark Scheifele has also been playing well enough offensively that there could be an apple for him. The guy is a known passer maybe he will find he can both score and pass.
