The Run Down

The Winnipeg Jets are coming off of a disappointing 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders. A game the Jets should have won but they couldn’t seal the deal and the over-passing was on full display. Nikolaj Ehlers would be the lone goal scorer for the Jets with a goal on the powerplay. The Colorado Avalanche are coming off of a four-day break after they had a big come-back overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers. The Jets are 3-3-0 this month, while the Avalanche are 4-1-2.

Primary Bet – Jets to win (Moneyline) – (-112)

A $1 bet would pay out $1.90.  The Avalanche have been hot lately and have been scoring a ton of goals. In their last five games, they have scored a minimum of three goals. The Jets have been scoring bunches in the last little bit. Could tonight be the game where they find their scoring ways again?  The Avalanche are holding onto the final wild-card playoff spot just one point up on the Calgary Flames but they do have four games in hand on the Flames and could catch the Jets with those games in hand.

Secondary Bet –Adam Lowry to score +1 point – (+140)

$1 to return $2.40. Lowry has been on a long 32-game goal-scoreless streak and picking up points has been tough lately too. The bad luck has to end soon it might as well come against the defending champs. A hungry team who wants to get back to the final dance. Lowry has it in him to score and the price is right on this bet. Lowry hasn’t picked up a point since Feb. 11 when he got the secondary assists on Blake Wheeler’s goal against the Chicago Black Hawks.

Tertiary Bet – Over 6.5 goals and Kyle Connor to score +2 point – (+275)

$1 to return 3.75. Colorado is a high-scoring team and the Jets have been struggling to find goals. As the old saying goes, when it rains it pours. Both teams are looking for wins and goals I expect a high-scoring affair and Kyle Connor to be a part of that scoring. This season Connor has just one point in two games against the Avs. The two other contests between the Avalanche and Jets this season have had scores of 6-3 for the Avalanche and 4-3 for the Jets.
