The Run Down

The Winnipeg Jets are coming off a 5-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. It was a game where almost everyone worked their butts off except the top line of Mark Scheifele, Nino Niederreiter, and Kyle Connor all of which were benched for the majority of the second period and had at least a -3 on the night. Niederreiter would score his seventh point in seven games with the Jets.
The Boston Bruins are in a bit of a slump as the best team in the NHL. they are 1-3 in their last four games and have been outscored 16-11. The most recent loss for the Bruins was on Tuesday when they would fall 6-3 to the Chicago Blackhawks. The Bruins have clinched the first playoff spot this season and have the record for the fastest team to 50 wins. The best team in the NHL is currently in the middle of a five-game road trip and if they want to make it a successful road trip they will need to pull off a win tonight.
David Pastrnak leads the Bruins in all offensive stats. In the month of March, the boys from B-town have a record of 3-3. The Bruins will most likely win the President’s Trophy unless some wild events take place between now and the end of the season. The Jets will need to find a win tonight to stay competitive for the playoffs. Currently, the Nashville Predators are only four points back of the Jets and have three games in hand. Win or lose the Jets will stay in the same playoff spot tonight.
Connor Hellebuyck should be getting the start against the Bruins. I’ll update the article once I know who is starting for the Bruins.

Primary Bet – Jets win – (+140)

A $1 bet would pay out $2.40. Without a shock, the Jets are the underdogs tonight. But thanks to a less-than-ideal last four games for the Bruins the odds aren’t fantastic if you’re going to be betting on the hometown team tonight.  The Bruins will be hungry and are going to be looking for a win. The Jets will need to find some goals tonight because even though the Bruins are losing they are still finding lots of goals. This season the Bruins average 3.73 goals for a game. If you’re not feeling a Jets win tonight the Bruins are -167 to win.

Secondary Bet – Both David Pastrnak and Nino Niederreiter to score 1+ goals– (+450)

A $1 bet would pay out 5.50. Go big or go home. We’re going big on this one. Pastrnak is unreal this season and he loves to score against the Jets. He has 10 goals in 12 games against Winnipeg.  Niederreiter hasn’t had much success against the Bruins with only three goals in 20 games against the Bruins but with the way his line played against the Hurricanes, I think we will see his whole line get going and find some goals. Both Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele to score with Pastrnak are +400 if you want to make a bet involving a Jet and 26-year-old Bruin forward.

Tertiary Bet – Jets power play goal– (+105)

A $1 dollar bet would payout 2.05. This is going to be a bit of a risky one. The Bruins have the best penalty kill in the NHL this season, killing 85.3 percent of penalties. The Jets’ power play has been up and down this season, currently, it sits right in the middle of the league and they are successful 21.5 percent of the time. The Jets weren’t able to find the back of the net during the powerplay against the Hurricanes but was successful in the two games prior to that.
