Be sure to check Betway to check out the latest Jets game day odds and bet on the NHL! The first Winnipeg Jets on Amozon goes tonight at Canada Life Centre at 6:30 when the Toronto Maple Leafs try to snap the Jets season starting win streak. As well Winnipeg is looking to break the longest franchise win streak record.
The Maple Leafs have dropped their last three games getting out scored 15-6. Their last win was one week ago to the Tampa Bay Lightning when they won 5-2. Over all this season the Leafs have a goal differential of -2. With the rough last three games new Toronto bench boss Craig Berub has given his line-up a shake up, putting the former captain John Tavares on the second line, and young Leaf Nick Robertson is getting healthy scratched for the first time this season.
The Jets are running back to the line-up that has worked for the last five games, no shock there. Hellebuyck will also get the start tonight he last lost his last three games to the Leafs and has allowed three goals in all three of those games.
Anthony Stolarz gets the start for Toronto tonight, he has played a to of 91 minutes against the Jets. He has allowed nine goals against in 91 minutes. He has an .862 Save percentage and 5.88 goals against average.
William Nylander leads the Leafs in goal scoring this season with 5, Mitch Marner leads the team in assists with 9 and the team in points with 10. Nylander has 9 goals and 19 points against the Jets in 21 career games.
Kyle Connor leads the Jets with 6 goals. Neal Pionk leads the Jets in assists with 9 and the team in points with 10. Pionk has 13 assists in 21 games against the Leafs and is looking for his first goal against them in a Jets jersey.
The Leafs have been brutal early this season on the power play going just 3 for 30, but have been solid on the penalty kill allowing just 6 goals against on 37 attempts. The Jets have been incredibly disciplined only taking 16 penalties all season and have only allowed penalty kill 2 goals against.  The Jets are great with the extra man scoring in 43% of all power plays. That number will drop eventually but  even if it fell by 15% the Jets would still be a top 5 team on the power play.
You can catch tonight’s home opener game on Amazon Prime, 680 CJOB and Power 97 starting at 6:30 PM from Canada Life Centre. Be sure to catch Angus on the pregame show a half hour before the game on instagram.
