Be sure to check Betway to check out the latest Jets game day odds and bet on the NHL! The Winnipeg Jets faced their first regulation loss to the Eastern Conference and defeat in eight games this last week. I am not here to shame the Jets, who are still on top of the Central Division, but to highlight the top three Jets from the last week.
Cole Perfetti
Cole Perfetti is evolving into an NHL stud with ebbs and flows, and this week had a notable flow for the 22-year-old forward. He pocketed two goals and an assist in the 5-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Additionally, he helped Connor Hellebuyck secure his second shutout of the season with a massive shot block against the Blue Jackets.
Adam Lowry
Let’s give it up for the captain of the Jets for going above and beyond over the last seven days. Adam Lowry stepped up, starting in the game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Mark Scheifele left early in the second period, and Lowry took charge, centering the top line.
In that game, he picked up two primary assists on the two late goals, leading to the Jets’ 2-1 victory over the Blackhawks. Going back to Tuesday’s 5-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, he picked up another two primary assists, added in another two blocked shots, and won 55 percent of the faceoffs he took.
In the 2-0 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, Lowry stepped up in the faceoff dot, winning 56 percent of his faceoffs, and contributed with four hits and two shots on goal against Philly.

Connor Hellebuyck
You’ll just have to assume Connor Hellebuyck is going to be on this list every week. My word, what a great goaltender. I will be personally throwing hands with any writer who doesn’t vote for Hellebuyck in Vezina voting and maybe even in Hart voting.
Hellebuyck was lights out in his two games this week. Even with a 1-1 record, the Jets’ starter stopped 63 of 65 shots, ending up with a .970 save percentage. He also picked up his second shutout of the season.
The Black Hole
The black hole of the week goes to the NHL All-Star jerseys. Justin Bieber, now a clothing designer at Drew House, I suppose, and because he’s one of the most famous Toronto Maple Leafs fans in the world, I guess he just gets to make all-star jerseys.
Someone I was listening to was saying that these jerseys weren’t made with the “average hockey fan in mind.” Wouldn’t it be easier to hype up and keep new fans engaged with a fun and competitive all-star weekend? How many people will fall in love with a sport because of the jerseys?
I know the NBA has rad jerseys, but I don’t see people saying, “I got into basketball because of the cool jerseys.” Give us a good weekend of all-star play, and maybe, just maybe, you can grow the NHL.
Either way, the 2024 Doritos bags disguised as NHL jerseys are a flop. Maybe you’re one of the people who like these jerseys; if so, all the power to you. I hope you get those jerseys on the cheap when they go on sale towards the end of next month.
