After a disappointing 4-0 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness was not impressed with his team. During the post-game presser, Bowness would be candid about his team and their poor performance in the contest against the  Flyers.

It&#8217;s good to see there is still lots of positivity in Bowness even after the Jets have been embarrassed in the last two games. Teams go through losing skids. The Jets are still contending for first in the West they built themselves a cushion to afford a few losses. If the Jets can pull off a win against the St.Louis Blues on Monday they&#8217;ll be in a good mindset during the break and they can hopefully take on Chicago on February 11th with a pep in their step and not playing with fear.
&#8220;Regardless of the outcome on Monday night, we need a 60-minute effort. That&#8217;s all we want. It&#8217;s all the fans want to see a 60-minute effort. The wins and losses will take care of itself if you take care of the effort and you take care of the process. That&#8217;ll take care of itself. Right now the process isn&#8217;t good enough and the effort isn&#8217;t good enough.
The Jets have been lacking a 60-minute effort for the majority of the games in the back half of January. They have had that effort right before this (hopefully minor) collapse in the win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on January 13th.  When we have seen the Jets play with that 60-minute effort they tend to come out as the winners of the game. Even when the Jets take five minutes off from a game they can blow a game. We need to see the Jets take control of a game for a full 60 minutes and not allow teams to crawl back into games or allow themselves to get outscored 9-3 like in their last three games.

Bowness is 100 percent on here. My friend was selling probably some of the best tickets in Canada Life Centre for 400 dollars in this contest. That&#8217;s almost a mortgage payment in a small house for a pair of hockey tickets. Add in the beer, popcorn and parking and you&#8217;ve got cheap mortgage payment. For the working-class hero who saved up to go to the game against the Flyers or the Buffalo Sabres expecting those men on the ice to show up, I&#8217;m sorry they didn&#8217;t.

Connor Hellebuyck is 1-4 in his last five games but only has a Goals Against Average of 2.60. Both Hellebuyck and David Rittich have played well during this time of poor play from the team.
We got used to scoring from the bottom six but there are players who are ice-cold on the third line, including Adam Lowry who has gone more than 20 games without a goal. Karson Kuhlman has only scored two goals with the Jets. Rounding out the third line Saku Maenalanen hasn&#8217;t scored a point since returning to the line-up.
The defensive scoring has also dried up. We were spoiled getting over a point-a-game production from Josh Morrissey in his last five games he only has two points. Neal Pionk is playing out of control and his mistakes are costing the Jets so many goals. The absence of Dylan DeMelo has been felt he was out of action during the game against the Flyers and his role in the defence is more important than most know.
Should the fans be booing this team? It&#8217;s been a rough 12 days for the team but they have played so well for the majority of the season sometimes you need that mental break the team has had two consecutive days off only once this month. I know they get paid a lot of money to do what they do but they are human. The Jets players may want to play a complete game but sometimes their bodies will just say no.
Thankfully the Jets will be taking 11 days off after their game against the St.Louis Blues. If the Jets can pull off a win there, they can take it easy and let their minds rest for 11 days.
