Be sure to check Betway to check out the latest Jets game day odds and bet on the NHL! The deadline looms closer and closer Kevin Cheveldayoff allegedly still has his fingers in some pies and we could see another trade before 2 PM. The first trade of the day is for Vladislav Namestnikov from the San Jose Sharks to the Jets for a 2025 fourth-round NHL draft.
Namestnikov,30, was recently acquired by the Sharks in a trade for former Jet Michael Eyssimont to the Tampa Bay lightning. Capfriendly.com would confirm that in the original trade between the Sharks and the lightning, the lightning would retain half of Namestniko’s 2.5 million dollar contract.

Namestnikov was drafted 27th overall in 2011 by the Lightning and has been coached by head coach Rick Bowness twice before. Once in Tampa Bay and against last season with the Dallas Stars. He also played with the New York Rangers, the Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, and the Detroit Red Wings.
Namestnikov only signed a one-year deal going into this year and is a UFA at the end of the end of the season. Through his 10 seasons in the NHL he has played 610 games scored 113 goals and 251 points. The Russian born player is a left handed center and should be a good fit for the Jets bottom.
