<p>After the wild trade action of yesterday, it feels like there won&#8217;t be much to talk about on Friday for the big talk shows. (For my employers, here is where I could properly mention the Dailyfaceoff show that is taking place on Friday for the trade deadline.) Right now, we are patiently waiting for general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff to make some magic happen. The Jets in my opinion are just two pieces away from being the team that should contend in the West.</p>
<p>In this article I will just talk about one of those pieces the Jets are missing the top six right winger. If Vilardi could stay healthy the Jets don&#8217;t really need to go find another one but with him being out with different little injuries the Jets are better off having another piece there to make them better.That being said there has to be real consideration that Cole Perfetti is part of a trade package.</p>
<p>The reason I want to see the Jets target a right winger is because Perfetti was supposed to be a top-six player, and unfortunately, he has regressed this season. It is his first full season in the NHL, so the stamina probably just isn&#8217;t there. With Perfetti not meeting the Jets&#8217; needs this season, I think we should consider trading the future of this team. Let&#8217;s collectively remember that Perfetti is having his best season goals-wise. He has 14 goals and 31 points in 60 games in his sophomore season.</p>
<p>The potential of Perfetti is so high, but he just isn&#8217;t cutting it this year. With Gabe Vilardi always a little banged up, it&#8217;s wise to shore up that position with another top-six forward. Even when everyone is healthy, the Jets could run the fourth line of Morgan Barron, Vlad Namestnikov, and Alex Iafallo.</p>
<p>But who is this right-wing forward I desire? Currently, there are two guys I think Cheveldayoff should take some last-minute kicks of the tire.</p>
<h3>Jordan Eberle</h3>
<p>The first right winger the Jets should look at is Jordan Eberle from the Seattle Kraken. He doesn&#8217;t have a Stanley Cup to his name yet. The NHL veteran has been to two Eastern Conference finals with the New York Islanders and has been a solid member of the Kraken&#8217;s leadership group.</p>
<p>Eberle has had decent success in the postseason, scoring 19 goals and 47 points in 76 playoff games. Who can forget his goal against the Russians in the semifinal?</p>

<p>Eberle is going to help on the power play and could take Perfetti&#8217;s spot on the second power play. The only downside to the Kraken forward is he isn&#8217;t a stone-cold scorer; he&#8217;s just another assist machine. The Jets do need a scorer in their top six, but Eberle would add more skill to the Jets&#8217; top six.</p>
<p>Eberle&#8217;s $5.5 million contract is a little rich for the Jets&#8217; $5.8 million in cap space. Additionally, Eberle has a 16-team no-trade list. It would probably cost the Jets a high-end prospect and either the Montreal second-round draft pick or possibly Perfetti.</p>
<h3>Tyler Toffoli</h3>
<p>The New Jersey Devils have been a disappointment this season; they only have 64 points. So every good team might as well pick that carcass clean. Tyler Toffoli has had a respectable season as their top right winger. He has 26 goals and 44 points through 62 games this season. The Jets need scoring, and Toffoli brings it.</p>
<p>Toffoli, Vilardi, and Nino Neitterider are all going to play pretty much the same game: get in front of the net and score goals from 5 feet out. This works well for the club; you have three guys who will put their bodies on the line and go fish for a greasy goal.</p>
<p>Toffoli&#8217;s contract is a lot easier to swallow at $4.25 million, and he doesn&#8217;t have any no-trade clauses in his contract. That being said, every team is going to be calling New Jersey for the Toffoli sweepstakes. On top of that, Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald has said he does not want to trade the forward. It will cost a pretty penny for Toffoli to join the Jets, and if anyone gets him out of New Jersey, they will overpay by a large sum.</p>
<p>Toffoli will be a much better fit for the Jets over Eberle, but trying to get him out of New Jersey might be a bit of a long shot. It might cost this year&#8217;s Montreal second-round draft pick, next year&#8217;s first, and a current roster player.</p>
<p>Cheveldayoff is going to need to do something; the West got significantly better yesterday. At this time, sitting on your hands will cause more damage.</p>
<p>The Vancouver Canucks have acquired Elias Lindholm.</p>
<p>The Dallas Stars acquired defenseman Chris Tanev last week.</p>
<p>The Vegas Golden Knights acquired winger Anthony Mantha on Tuesday and defenseman Noah Hanifin last night.</p>
<p>The Colorado Avalanche acquired defenseman Sean Walker and center Casey Mittelstadt yesterday.</p>
<p>The Edmonton Oilers acquired forwards Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks.</p>
