Former Winnipeg Jet&#8217;s forward Paul Stastny has officially announced his retirement from the NHL after 17 seasons. Per TSN NHL insider Pierre Lebrun.
Stastny would join the Jets for the first time in 2018 when the Jets were in hot pursuit of the Stanley Cup. The Jets would trade Erik Foley, and a 2018 first round pick( Rasmus Sandin).
In two seperate playoff runs with the Jets Stastny would play 23 games and score 7 goals and 17 points. In the regular season he would suit up in 146 games for Winnipeg pot 38 goals and 87 points.

In his second tour of duty the Jets would trade for the veteran forward yet again. This time the trade would be with the Vegas Golden Knights where the Jets would trade defenceman Carl Dahlstrom and a fourth round pick in the 2022 draft.
In total Stastny would play 1145 games with five NHL teams, racking up 293 goals, 822 points.
The final stop in the 37-year-old was in Carolina with the Hurricanes, where he would score nine goals and 13 assists in 73 regular season games. In the playoffs he would score four goals in 15 games for the Canes.
Stastny, a Quebec City native would never win a Stanley Cup, and came second in Calder voting in 2006-07 just behind Evgeni Malkin. Stastny would represent the United States in the 2014 Olympic games and would bring home Bronze.
