This is the second time this week that Stanley&#8217;s name has been brought up by the media. Elliotte Friedman would mention on Feb.28 that there has been &#8220;some action&#8221; around Stanley and was told some were shocked he wasn&#8217;t a part of the trade for Nino Niederreiter.

Stanley,24, is another player in a long list of young players who have wanted out of Winnipeg. Stanley has only played 13 games this season and has picked up a single assist.  Injuries and consistent play from Dylan Samberg have kept Stanley out of the Jets lineup.
Stanley stands at 6&#8217;7 and was drafted in the first round 18th overall in 2016. He spent the first two years after his draft in the OHL with the Windsor Spitfires and the Kitchener Rangers. He would play 96 games in his final two seasons in the OHL and score 19 goals and 59 points. Between 2018-2020 Stanley would play two seasons with the Manitoba Moose and a total of 117 games scoring nine goals and 23 points.
In the shortened 2021 season Stanley would play 37 of 56 games and would score two clutch goals for the Jets against the Montreal Canadiens in game four of the second of the 2021 NHL playoffs.  Stanley would sign a two-year 900k contract and is still an RFA at the end of the season.
All time Stanley has played 108 games in the NHL and has scored two goals and 18 points. Stanley has had a handful of dominant games in the NHL and may not have had enough time to develop in the NHL. There were two years when his development was put on a detour due to the pandemic. Ville Hienola has faced pretty much the same treatment but worse.

Stanley&#8217;s one-way contract is the reason why he hasn&#8217;t moved down to the AHL for a conditioning stint. Which would have been very beneficial to his growth as an NHL player.
With the NHL going absolutely bananas before the trade deadline it wouldn&#8217;t be a shock to see Stanley traded out for a big package before the deadline. It could also be that Stanley might be used as an important piece for the Jets in a deep playoff push if he were to play up to his full potential sign a new contract and then get traded out or even stick it out in Winnipeg.
If we are really honest it&#8217;s been the lack of playing and the fans riding this guy too hard as the whipping boy even though he has hardly played much hockey this season. The price for a 6&#8217;7 defenceman is incredibly high and the fact he is a first-round pick who brings size and has unlimited potential. Even if you love Logan Stanley for all of his height it&#8217;s going to be good for him to have a change of scenery.
Stanley could get the Jets a handful of draft picks and another prospect. He could also be a major piece in a trade where the Jets might be able to save the Jets from trading a third-round pick and only giving up a fourth or fifth.
