The Winnipeg Jets faced their first loss of the season monday night and we are ready for them to get back into the win column. The Jets had won three of the last five games against the Detroit Red Wings going into Wednesday’s game.
The first 20 minutes felt like the great Jets hockey that we got to see through the majority of first eight games Kyle Connor would help find the back of the net twice and score a goal. ultimately scoring his 500th NHL career point at 2:48 into the first as he would set up Gabe Vilardi for the first goal of the night.
Less than two minutes the Jets would find the back of the net again. This time Mark Scheifele would win the faceoff the puck would go back to Neal Pionk he would move it on to Kyle Connor who would pass back to Scheifele who would shoot the puck and Pionk would pick up the garbage to give the Jets a 2-0 lead.
Connor would turn on the jets for point 502. He would bring the puck out of the D-zone pass the puck cross ice to Vilardi who would race down the wing Connor would fight off two defencemen with his speed and find the back of the net putting the Jets up 3-0.
Shots were tied up at 7 after the first and Scheifele would draw a tripping call at 18:39. Mason Appleton deserves a little love he broke up a pass in the neutral zone diving and that shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Dylan Samberg would get called on the weakest interference call I have ever seen. Scott Arniel was not impressed about it.

Samberg would sit in the box for just six seconds before Dylan Larkin would score his 5th goal of the season off the set play.
This goal would give the Red Wings some wind in their sails they would start skating much harder and finding better scoring chances.
Detroit would score on the Jets next penalty Neal Pionk would find himself in the box for hooking at 16:45. The Red Wings would capitalize on this Alex DeBrincat would tip his fifth of the season past Connor Hellebuyck.
The Jets would out shoot Detroit 12-8 in the second but were out scored 2-0. The Red Wings had a solid second period but it was the only period they could muster any goals.
The Jets would start the first period with a weird one. exactly 10 seconds in the Jets would dump the puck deep and Nino Niederreiter with one hand on his stick would find the back of the net
Uhhh yeah he totally meant to do that 😏 pic.twitter.com/iuRTnemSBx

Pionk would end up on the hat trick watch scoring his second of the game this time on the power play. He would walk into the pass from Alex Iafallo and score his third of the season.
Colin Miller would get us on Miller time scoring at 10:25 of the third period just off of the power play Miller would score off the Adam Lowry winning face off and find the twine with his big slap shot.
Jets would redeem themselves from a rough game at home to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Only drawing three penalties but would only kill 1 of 3. Jets were still 2 for 4 on the power play. They out shot Detroit 29-21. I think we saw one of the best games of the season from Kyle Connor who if he keeps tearing it could score his 600th point this season but that is a big dream.
Hellebuyck looked solid stopping all 5-on-5 shots, only two Red Wings would manage to get 2 shots on Hellebuyck the Jets defence were keeping it tight tonight. Jets are in action next on Friday vistiting Sean Monahan the Columbus Blue Jackets.
