It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had a chance to write one of these betting articles. Two whole weeks have passed since we last watched the Winnipeg Jets in action. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been incredibly bored not having Jets games throughout the holiday season.

The last time this club played was back on Dec. 19 against the St. Louis Blues, where they picked up a 4-2 win, which was their first win under new head coach Dave Lowry.

In my previous betting article, I went 1-for-6 on my bets but I did hit on the parlay. So I’ll call that a minor victory. Let’s see if all of us can find success in the betting world in 2022.

What You Need to Know About the Jets

Even with the extended time off, the Jets remain fifth in the Central Division with a 14-11-5 record and 33 points. The Jets currently sit just three points behind the Colorado Avalanche for the final wild-card spot.

Goaltender @Connor Hellebuyck is expected to receive the start in goal during this afternoon match-up. Hellebuyck has posted an 11-9-4 record, a 2.69 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage this season. Captain @Blake Wheeler is out once again, and @Evgeny Svechnikov is also out for this contest.

@Kyle Connor continues to lead the Jets in goals (18) and points (32), Wheeler and @Nate Schmidt lead the club in assists with 16 each.

When it comes to the penalty kill, the Jets remain ranked 31st in the NHL with a 70.6 per cent success rate. Having said that, their penalty kill has significantly improved since Nov. 6, resulting in a 63.9 per cent rate.

What You Need to Know About the Golden Knights

The last time the Jets and Vegas Golden Knights met up was back in March 2020. The Jets ended up winning that game 4-0.

The Golden Knights are currently riding high, as they’re 10-3 in December and are first in the Pacific Division with 44 points. Additionally, they’ve also positioned three points ahead of the second-place Anaheim Ducks.

Former Jet @Laurent Brossoit will receive the start for the Golden Knights. In 2021-22, Brossoit owns an 8-3-0 record, a 2.59 goals-against and a .904 save percentage. In Brossoit’s last five starts, he’s posted a 3-2-0 record.

The Golden Knights will be without @Jack Eichel, @Max Pacioretty, @Robin Lehner, @Mark Stone and @Nicolas Hague.

@Jonathan Marchessault leads the Golden Knights in goals with 16. @Chandler Stephenson leads the team in assists (24) and points (34).
