On Mar. 25, the Winnipeg Jets won another huge game, defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 in overtime. It was so much fun watching forward @Patrik Laine’s return to Winnipeg, but it was even better seeing his former team win in extra time.
Overall, @Zach Sanford scored his first point as a Jet, perhaps we’ll see more out of him Sunday against the Arizona Coyotes.
On the betting front, I went 3-for-6 on the night, allowing me to walk away with some money. Hopefully, you’re finding betting success these days, as well.
I just want to shout out Mitchell Rauliuk, who’s from Dauphin, Winnipeg, for joining Sunday’s Next Gen game. It’s a big accomplishment and I hope to see you as an NHL broadcaster in the future, buddy.
What You Need to Know About the Jets
The ebbs and flows of the Jets 2021-22 season have been dizzying. Thus far, the club owns a 31-25-10 record and 72 points.
Though @Eric Comrie enjoyed a decent showing against the Blue Jackets, starter @Connor Hellebuyck will make the start for the Jets in this contest against the Coyotes. The 6’4″ goalie features a 23-23-9 record, a 2.98 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage this season.
Youngster @Ville Heinola will partner with @Nate Schmidt on Winnipeg’s third defensive pairing. Rookie @Cole Perfetti remains out of the line-up (upper body) and @Logan Stanley is also injured (undisclosed).
All-Star @Kyle Connor continues to lead the Jets in all scoring categories. He has 41 goals and 82 points in 66 games this season.
The Jets and Coyotes last played each other on Feb. 27 at Gila River Arena, where Winnipeg won 5-3. This will be the season series finale between these two franchises, Jets 2.0 currently controls a 2-1 lead over the former organization that formally called the ‘True North’ its home.
What You Need to Know About the Coyotes
The Coyotes are statically the worst team in the league. Thanks to their miserable 20-40-4 record and 44 points, they currently sit 32nd in the standings – right where most people expected them to be.
Rookie goaltender @Karel Vejmelka will start for the Coyotes on Sunday, Despite his brutal 10-25-1 record, 3.39 goals-against average and .904 save percentage, Vejmelka has enjoyed his fair share of quality moments this season.
He’s certainly a fun goalie to watch, you know when he’s not playing against the Jets.
The Coyotes are projected to be without @Conor Timmins (knee), @Andrew Ladd (lower body), @Liam O’Brien (upper body), @Antoine Roussel (lower body), @Jakob Chychrun (lower body), @Jack McBain (ankle) and @Christian Fischer (lower body).
Similar to Winnipeg, Arizona has one skater leading them in both goals (27) and points (62) in 2021-22, which is @Clayton Keller.
