It’s a new day for the Winnipeg Jets, they’re looking to get back into the win column after their second loss of the season.  Seems like the Jets like to lose to the blue and white teams. This is a home and home series so 120 minutes of the Jets taking on the reigning 2024 Stanley Cup Champions the Florida Panthers who are currently second in the East.
Florida is coming off back-to-back losses to the New Jersey Devils getting out scored 10-3 in those two games. However they are 7-3 in their last ten with the other loss came to the Minnesota Wild on October 22nd. The Panthers have scored 60 goals this season and are tied at sixth with the Carolina Hurricanes at goals for.
Connor Hellebuyck is the expected starter for the Jets. He would rest against the Tampa Bay Lightning. This season he is 12-1-0 with a 1.92 goal against average and a .934 save percentage with three shutouts.
Sergei Bobrovsky, the two time Vezina Trophy winner is having a down season with a 3.14 goals against average, an .889 save percentage with an 8-3-1 record. The team is averaging 3.53 goals for per game.
I expect the Panthers to be hungry due to the last two games and the fact that former Jets head coach Paul Maurice said ” If I could have one more thing, it would be for the Winnipeg Jets to win the next Stanley cup.”   I could see that line from Maurice being a reason why the Florida players get up for these games against the Jets to say we are winning the next cup.
Former Jet defenceman Nate Schimdt will play tonight for the Panthers tonight they have no injuries. Lines for the Jets will stay the same as they have been since they started this road trip.
Morgan Barron will be playing in his 200th NHL game and Josh Morrissey will be playing in his 600th career game.
