WWYDW: What To Do With the Moose

Welcome to this week’s version of What Would You Do Wednesday where you are asked a question and debate among yourselves what the answer is. Unfortunately, the only prize you will receive will be the most Twitter mentions.
For this week’s What Would You Do Wednesday, I am posing the question, does the Manitoba Moose need to be addressed to be made more competitive, if it will aid in prospect development?
Having a strong AHL team is an aspect that some people hold in high regard when it comes to player development. If a player isn’t ready to play in the NHL and is AHL, then he can play for a team’s AHL team.
The general consensus among scouts, general managers (armchair and official), and analysts is that a competitive farm team will aid in stronger development of a player.
If this is true, then the Jets have an issue. Since the Jets 2.0 have been a franchise, their AHL farm team, has been the St John’s IceCaps (2011-2015) and the Manitoba Moose (2015-2016). The farm team has done well enough to make the AHL playoffs 2 times since the Jets were relocated.
The Jets have a couple of notable prospects currently on the Moose: Josh Morrissey, Scott Kosmachuk, Brendan Lemieux, and Eric Comrie to name a few.
What Would You Do Jets Nation?
Even if the Moose are consistently losing, the Jets’ have prospect playing meaningful minutes for the Moose. But, should True North endeavour to produce a better AHL team through signing better AHL players? Or, should the Jets stay the course and hope the prospects are able to develop in the situation they are placed in?
If you could do over a draft selection by the Jets, who would you select?
As always leave your answers and suggestions in the comments or on Twitter with the #wwydw hash tag and mention to @NHLJetsNation and/or me: @canadiankyian.
