Patrik Laine playing the Blues
By Nation Dan
5 years ago If this is the jynx, it’s on me. I just thought it was worth the time to take a look at Patrik Laine’s domination of the St. Louis Blues this post-season and his entire career. In the regular season, he has fifteen points (13-2-15) against the Blues in just twelve games played (his second-most points against any team (Dallas – 13gp, 15-5-20))
Everyone remembers this night when #29 took the Blues out to the woodshed and then some. Torching St. Louis for five goals and giving them a night they credit with the turnaround for their season. Eventually, they would call up Jordan Binnington and he would pretty much singlehandedly lead the Blues into the playoff picture.
Now I know Binnington has been the reason the Blues have stole two games from the Jets but he finally showed us his “nervous face” in game three as he and his team collapsed soundly.
Laine has taken a lot of criticism this season (which will happen after a twenty point drop from the previous year) but Patrik has shown up when it counts in the playoffs and has three goals and an assist to show for his effort.
Let’s relive his three pack of playoff goals now:
If there was one place you can fairly critique Laine now, it would have to be his trash talking. Maybe don’t pick on a career agitator like Maroon?
