Steve Mason got the start tonight and it was more of what we expected to see from him as he made 35 saves and helped the Jets stay in the game all night, sadly it was not enough as the Jets fall in overtime by a score of 2-1 for the second night in a row.
Sadly, for as good as Mason was, the Jets power play was awful. Actually “awful” isn’t a good enough word to explain it. Brutal? Atrocious? Putrid?  Maybe all of them…
Don’t look now, but the Jets have earned points in six of their last seven games now which some of you can scoff at, but for a team that has said it needs to make the playoffs, even loser points such as they’ve gained on the road the last two nights in late October are big and can make a difference in April.
As Tony mentioned in his weekly stats recap earlier this week, the Jets have issues and holes that need to be patched, so if they can continue to tread water while trying to figure out how to plug those holes, the Jets won’t be sunk by December.
Thankfully it would seem, the Jets are now done with seeing the Blue Jackets the rest of this season.
